On exiting the Aircraft, we entered\u00a0the arrivals area in the Hong Kong Airport. It\u2019s a long corridor that ends with exits to immigration (arrivals) or the transfer center. At that point you do another security check and they verify your onward travel so that you may\u00a0enter the main terminal. We walked down the airport\u2019s main connecting terminal in the 30 gates. At the end of that hall you veer right and proceed down to gate 63 and then an\u00a0escalator down to The Pier lounge. At the bottom of the escalator you turn right and then left\u00a0and walk into the check in area. We handed the associate our lounge passes and were checked in.<\/p>\n

As you step into the Pier you enter a long wide corridor that connects the different sections of the lounge. At one end of the hallway is the main restaurant, at the other is a large seating area and bar. The place is tastefully decorated and beautiful.<\/p>\n

Of the different areas off the master corridor (other than the ends) they included restrooms, a spa area, a reading materials room, a business center, and small room with food displayed. The spa area included 2 long corridors itself. One of the corridors had sleeping rooms, the other had the showers and spa rooms.<\/p>\n

Our incoming flight landed at 6:30am and our connecting flight didn\u2019t board until 1:30pm which meant we had 7 hours to enjoy the finest lounge I have ever visited. Being early in the morning neither of us were that hungry having just enjoyed our breakfast on previous flight. Susan was tired and promptly checked herself into a sleeping room. I roamed the lounge exploring and then checked into a shower room to clean up for the day. When I dropped Susan off to her day bed I was treated to an impressive view of the outdoor tarmac.<\/p>\n

About 9:30am Susan woke up and by then we were both hungry. We went to the dining room and were seated for breakfast. The dining room is huge with 2 seating areas partitioned by a half wall and flanked by widows overlooking the tarmac to the left as you enter. To the right is a long bar with an ample selection of distilled and standard beverages. The fare is cooked to order off the menu and prepared in the kitchen for your table. The selections are extensive and both the food and service are very good.<\/p>\n

Susann had the eggs benedict, and I enjoyed (for me) the best breakfasts dishes ever, the \u201cBaked Eggs\u201d. It was sublime.<\/p>\n

As if this amazing restaurant isn’t enough, The Pier has a whole other food service area with tons of delicious options.<\/p>\n

After breakfast we retired to the main seating area next to the bar. There we relaxed, read, charged our electronics and soaked up the tranquil oasis that is the Pier.<\/p>\n

Finally, 2:10pm came and we prepared to walk up to our connecting flight that was going out of gate 65, which is right next to the lounge.<\/p>\n

In Summary:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Pier is an amazing lounge to visit. It\u2019s beautifully designed, luxury rich and during our 7-hour visit it was always quiet and peaceful never getting crowded. The sleeping space is great for resting after a 15-hour international flight, and the shower suite offered a chance to clean up and prepare for the second day of our travel. The food was excellent and my breakfast was one of my favorites I\u2019ve had….,\u00a0ever! It\u2019s not often that a lounge can be a highlight of a trip, but the Pier is just that.
