The lounge is small in size (maybe 40 individuals\u2019 tops) and it\u2019s one room is square in shape. It also does not have its own bathroom facilities, and you need to exit to use the public restroom. Aside from those attributes it\u2019s a different lounge than the Thai Royal Orchid Lounge.<\/p>\n

The Thai lounge was a closed and private space. This lounge had an open front and a screened but not blocked wall between itself and the public terminal. When you approach the lounge there is a large circular reception desk where the agent works. It also seconds as circular bar where guests could sit and work or eat\/drink, although it would be a little strange for the agent working there, (a she in this case) would be on display for a circular assembly. Adding to the drama of this reception desk was a circular lighting cove with strands of material hanging down (see picture). Fortunately for the agent working during our visit we and one other couple were the only visitors in the space.<\/p>\n

I read an online TripAdvisor review of this lounge stating the furniture was dirty and stained but we found that not to be the case for our visit. The furniture wasn\u2019t new, but it was in pretty good shape and it was certainly clean. The ceiling had some funky fabric thing going on, and at the back of the lounge there was a suspended flat screen TV playing movies. One of the walls had a shelve display with an assortment of periodicals available for reading.<\/p>\n

The available food included a cold food section with cookies, sandwiches, muffins and pastries. It also included a coffee machine (temporally out of order) and a refrigerated \u201cCoca-Cola\u201d display with soft-drinks, water and beer. There was also a hot food section with a couple warm dishes, soup and an assortment of salad and fruit items. The food\u00a0was definitely a step up from the Thai lounge but nothing amazing either.<\/p>\n

After an hour of our visit we packed up and walked out of the lounge and next door to our gate.<\/p>\n

In Summary<\/p>\n

The Lux Lounge was a smaller less private lounge than the Thai Royal Orchid Lounge in the international terminal at Phuket Airport. We did find the food and the condition of Lux to be somewhat better than the Thai Lounge. Everything considered both lounges were unmemorable, and I would only use the Lux Lounge for a quick bite or drink, and\/or to get some work done if needed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
