On our return trip we had an overnight stay in Hong Kong and elected to stay at the Regal Airport Hotel which is connected directly with the Hong Kong airport. Our cost for a 1-night stay was $145.00 all in, and it seemed like an easy choice. After exiting our flight, we headed to immigration and were processed quickly. We then proceeded into the main baggage hall. From there signage indicated our path directly to the hotel. We were transiting though Asia a couple weeks before Chinese New Year and the hotel lobby was decorated in a festive manner. There was a decent line for check in but it moved quickly and we were processed for our room.<\/p>\n

The hotel has received a number of awards for best airport hotel and they proudly displayed their plaques. The hotel art was minimalist modern art and hallways contemporary with carpet that was bright\u2026 purple. We proceeded into the hotel elevator, up to our room 7004, and into the room.<\/p>\n

Our room was a \u201cSuperior Room\u201d with twin beds, but when checking in\u00a0the hotel had a king and the associate gladly switched us to it. The room was straight forward with a bed, nightstands, loveseat, coffee table, desk, chair and small closet. The bright red small coach and chairs accented the plain room. The bathroom was standard issue with a combination shower tub.<\/p>\n

The bed was surprisingly\u00a0comfortable and we sleep well for our short stay. We could have upgraded with breakfast for two for about $50.00 U.S. but I was looking forward to the \u201cBaked Eggs\u201d at the Pier again, so we passed.<\/p>\n

In Summary:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Regal Airport Hotel provided exactly what we wanted, a clean easy place to stay and sleep next to the Hong Kong International Airport. Even though it is a straight forward room, the hotel lobby and spaces were tastefully adorned and decorated (even with the purple carpet).
