On the heels of the big announcement for many new flights in the San Francisco Bay Area, Alaska Airlines has announced a large expansion of routes out of San Diego, California.
New San Diego routes
Just last week Alaska Airlines announced a wave of new flights by both Virgin America and Alaska Airlines in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today, per the Alaska Airlines web site, a number of new options from San Diego were announced. The new destinations include: Albuquerque, Austin, Kansas City, Mexico City, Minneapolis, Omaha and St. Louis. One thing is apparent, Alaska Airlines is upping their game on the west coast, and in particular in the state of California.

Alaska Airlines has also stated that they will be determining, and announcing, the direction and fate of the Virgin America brand by the end of this month. One thing is for sure the airline is looking to have a busy March.
